I’m baaaack!

So things have been very quite here for quite a long time. But I have a very good excuse… I was overseas with hubby for three months last year and it’s taken me this long to get myself back on track! Really! With all the planning that we needed to do and then trying to sort lots and lots and lots of photos and catching up with everything else normal life requires I’ve had no time at all!

Here are a just of few of the 25,000+ photos we took!

We had such a fabulous time, it’s been difficult being home and getting back into the normal routine. I’m back at work and hubby is filling his time with lost of odds and ends around the house.

So now I’m ready to start blogging again. I’ve spent the last couple of weeks making cards so here we go…

I have loads of rub-ons in my stash and I’m having a go at using some of them. These flowers are called Fancy Flowers from Kaisercraft. I’ve laid them down in a rough heart shape to match the one I’ve cut using Memory Box’s Cupid Heart die. The sentiment is a rub-on from Sullivans. I think you could achieve the same effect using stamps as well.

So that’s it for this post. Hope you like it!

Cheers for now

Birthday Note

Hi everyone. We’ve had our first dose of winter this weekend – two jumpers and ugg boots weather – I’ve even put the electric blanket on my bed! Goodbye summer!

Anyway, here’s this weeks card:

The paper is from DCWV’s Citrus Stack and the yellow strip was punched with Fiskar’s Notebook Border punch. The flower was punched using EK Success’ medium Retro Flower punch. The sentiment is from TPC Studio’s Celebration set and it’s stamped with Versafine Vintage Sepia ink. I’ve used crochet thread and a button to finish it off.

Hope you like it!

Cheers for now

Fun with PearlEx

Hi everyone! I’ve had a busy weekend so I’m running late again :/

This week’s card is a very simple one.

I used a sheet of grey cardstock and stamped it with Hero Art’s Zig Zag background stamp using VersaMark ink. Then I covered it with PearlEx #650 Micropearl.  You can’t really see it in the pic but it’s lovely and shiny! I stamped the greeting using a stamp from the Hero Arts set “It”s Your Day” in Memento “London Fog” ink. The flower was made with the Die-Namics Prima Donna Petals die. I  coloured it lightly with Tim Holtz Spun Sugar distress ink and put some sticky pearls in the centre.

I didn’t need to set the PearlEx on this project but if you want to you can just spray some water in the air and then quickly wave the cardstock through the mist.  Works every time!

Cheers for now!

Pretty Pinks

I’m running a bit late this week! I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend!

It seems like ages since I used vellum on one of my cards and as it seems to have made a bit of a comeback, I thought I’d dig out my old stuff and see what I could do with it:

I embossed the vellum with my Cuttlebug “Textile” embossing folder and stuck it to a piece of pink cardstock – as the glue would show through the vellum I’ve hidden it behind the flower. The stamp I used on the paper flowers is Hero Arts’ Antique Writing background stamp using Ranger Archival Ink “Sepia” and the adhesive pearls are from Sullivans.  The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink’s “Birthday Basics” set.

I hope you like it!

Lovely Stencils

Hi there! It’s a bit overcast and drizzly here today… a perfect day for papercrafting 🙂

This one is a  quick a easy one layer birthday card. I’ve used Kaisercraft’s Doily stencil and some Tim Holtz Distress Inks.

I’ve sponged the colour on using a makeup sponge and stuck an enamel dot in the middle of the doily.  The greeting is from a Papercraft set called Celebration.  I love using stencils on my cards!

Hope you like it!

Glittering Circles

Hello again.

This morning I was shuffling through my stash looking for inspiration when I came across some double sided adhesive sheets I bought ages ago. I thought I give glitter a try for a change.  It’s not something I use much because it’s awfully messy but I was feeling a bit adventurous. This is what I ended up with…

The glitter is from American Crafts and it’s very fine.  It stuck well to the adhesive and didn’t rub off.  The papers are from Kaisercraft’s Utopia collection. I think the sentiment stamp is from an old Inkadinkadoo set of greetings I’ve had forever.

I love the colours and the shine of the glitter. I’ll have to use it more often!

Pretty Felt Colours

Good morning! It’s overcast and drizzly here in Sydney. Not too humid yet so it is actually quite pleasant. I’m planning to head off to do my laps at the local swimming pool later this afternoon, so I thought I’d post before I go.

I have quite a bit of felt that I’ve not used very much, so I decided to try using it on this card.

P1100070 v2

I die cut the circles on my trusty little Cuttlebug and pinned them together with some Kaisercraft brads. The stems are from the Annabelle Stamps Stemmed Flowers set and the sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp’s Cupcake Party set. The inks are Ranger Archival Ink – Sap Green and Versafine – Onyx Black.

I think it turned out pretty well and I hope you do too!
